Develop and register your carbon credit project.
A credible carbon project takes more than a registry application. RF manages project design, methodology selection, documentation and coordination with independent validators—through to the registration decision.
Milestone-based advisory mandate · Independent validation · Optional support through issuance
From technical development to registration.
RF can take responsibility for the project development workstream while the project proponent retains ownership of its asset and independent auditors and registries retain their formal approval roles.
Crediting architecture
Methodology, boundaries, carbon rights, additionality, baseline and applicable host-country requirements.
PDD and monitoring design
Emission reduction or removal quantification, project design document, monitoring plan and evidence systems.
Coordination through registration
Registry account and project submissions, independent VVB coordination, findings management and registration package.
Independent VVB assurance, standard/registry fees, government approvals and issuance are not controlled by RF. Contract scope and third-party costs are itemized separately.
Clear stages. Defined responsibilities.
The precise sequence depends on the selected crediting program. The example below follows a typical Verra VCS pathway.
Readiness & methodology
Confirm eligibility, carbon rights, project data and applicability conditions.
PDD & evidence
Develop project description, baseline, additionality case and MRV design.
Pipeline & validation
Submit listing package, engage independent VVB and respond to findings.
Registration decision
Complete submission and review requirements with the selected registry.
After registration
Optional mandate: monitoring, verification, issuance and commercial support.
Project registration is not the same as issuance of verified carbon credits. Timing depends on the project, methodology, VVB and registry reviews.
For projects ready to move beyond a concept.
Designed for project developers, asset owners, public entities and investors who have a defined activity, access to underlying project data, and an intention to pursue certification.
Already have a feasibility report, a methodology or a draft PDD? RF can review the materials and scope only the remaining work. There is no requirement to buy an RF feasibility study first.
Still evaluating viability? Start with our feasibility study →A milestone-based project development mandate.
Following a document review, RF prepares a tailored statement of work with specific outputs, technical responsibilities, VVB coordination, registry interactions and exclusions.
Development through registration
Defined scope from methodology and documentation to validation management and registry submission.
Monitoring through issuance
Field and digital monitoring, monitoring reports, independent verification, registry issuance requests and optional buyer support.

What corporate sponsors and investors should know
What does RF manage during registration?
RF develops the registration roadmap and project documentation, tests the methodology, baseline and additionality case, designs the monitoring approach, organizes supporting evidence, manages submissions and coordinates responses with the independent validation and verification body and registry. Independent parties retain all validation, verification and registration decisions.
How long will registration and first issuance take?
They are separate milestones. Timing depends on project readiness, methodology, data quality, stakeholder and host-country requirements, auditor availability, registry review and the number of findings raised. Credits can only be issued after eligible results are monitored, independently verified and approved; RF therefore develops a project-specific schedule rather than promising a fixed date.
What diligence should we complete before committing capital?
Corporate sponsors typically review project and counterparty governance, land-use and carbon rights, permits, methodology eligibility, additionality, baseline assumptions, implementation capability, MRV systems, environmental and social safeguards, benefit sharing, financial resilience, host-country policy and the intended buyer or market pathway.
How should we secure rights to future credits and manage under-delivery?
Rights and delivery obligations should be documented through the investment and, where relevant, an offtake or emission-reduction purchase agreement. Terms may address ownership, volumes, price, milestones, conditions precedent, registry transfer, shortfall, replacement, termination and use of credits. RF can align the carbon workstream, while transaction-specific legal advice remains essential.
Will the project need host-country authorization or a corresponding adjustment?
It depends on the crediting program, project country, target market, buyer eligibility rules and intended use of the credits. Authorization and corresponding-adjustment requirements should be assessed early; they should never be assumed merely because a project is eligible for voluntary registration.
Can our company use the credits for a climate claim?
That depends on applicable law, the company's own emissions-reduction strategy, the claims framework being followed, credit eligibility and attributes, transparent disclosure, registry retirement and controls against double use. RF can help align the project pathway with the intended corporate use, but the company should retain legal and claims-governance sign-off.
Discuss a registration mandate.
If you already have a methodology, PDD, supporting studies or registry reference, mention this in your description. Secure document sharing can follow an initial fit discussion.
RF's role is development and coordination, not an assurance or guarantee of approval. Every project is assessed against current program and host-country requirements.
