FundMatch Mapping is an 8-week, fixed-scope engagement for corporates and project sponsors that want to understand which climate finance opportunities are actually worth pursuing. Instead of giving clients a generic list of funds, Resources Future tests the project against eligibility, instrument fit, fund priorities, ticket size, access route, evidence requirements and process realities.
Our Challenge
Most climate projects do not fail because there is no money in the market. They fail because the project is aimed at the wrong fund, asks for the wrong instrument, enters the process too early, or lacks the evidence a funder needs to move. Public eligibility criteria are only the first filter. A project can match a fund’s sector and country requirements and still be a poor fit for the fund’s current board priorities, ticket size, access modality or portfolio direction.
For Pakistani corporates, this creates a costly uncertainty problem. Teams may spend months preparing a proposal for a fund that was never likely to finance the project. FundMatch Mapping is designed to reduce that uncertainty early, before major management time and transaction cost are committed.
How We Help
Resources Future starts with the company’s project concept, financing need, sector, geography, timeline and existing documentation. We build a longlist of relevant bilateral, multilateral, DFI and blended finance windows, then screen them for hard eligibility and substantive fit. We assess whether the project is better suited to grant funding, concessional debt, guarantees, blended finance, equity or a sequenced combination of instruments.
The engagement ends with a FundMatch Profile and Climate Finance Strategy Document. These outputs show which funds are credible, why they fit, what evidence is missing, how the project should be strengthened, and what the company should do next.
Speak to Resources Future about whether this funding pathway fits your project.
