Transport and Carbon Markets

Transport is one of the fastest-growing sources of emissions in emerging economies. Shifting vehicles, fleets, and logistics systems toward cleaner technologies can deliver measurable emission reductions while improving air quality and energy efficiency. We help project developers and fleet operators understand whether transport interventions can generate credible carbon credits and how to structure them for certification and monetisation.

Our Value Proposition

Follow on

~20–25% of global energy-related CO₂ emissions come from transport

Direct emission reductions achieved through electrification and fuel switching

Highly scalable via fleet- and programmatic-based crediting approaches

Our Challenge

Transport emissions are highly dispersed across vehicles, users, and routes, making them more complex to measure and verify than point-source projects. While electrification, modal shifts, and efficiency improvements offer significant mitigation potential, many transport projects struggle to demonstrate additionality, establish defensible baselines, or collect reliable activity data required by carbon standards.
At the same time, carbon methodologies for transport are evolving rapidly, with increasing expectations around data quality, leakage control, and permanence of emission reductions. Without clear feasibility analysis and robust monitoring frameworks, project developers face uncertainty around credit volumes, issuance timelines, and long-term market acceptance— limiting the role carbon finance can play in scaling cleaner transport solutions.

How We Help

We help transport project developers and fleet operators assess whether proposed interventions can generate credible carbon credits under recognised standards. Our work focuses on defining realistic baselines, quantifying emission reductions conservatively, and clarifying monitoring requirements—so clients can understand potential credit volumes, costs, and timelines before committing capital.
We also simplify complex transport methodologies by translating technical requirements into practical project steps. From activity data collection and technology eligibility to monitoring systems and verification readiness, we support clients in structuring transport projects that meet evolving market expectations and remain operationally feasible.

Our Services for Transport Projects

Transport Carbon Feasibility Assessment

We assess vehicle types, usage patterns, baseline emissions, and proposed interventions to
determine suitability for carbon certification.

Methodology & Crediting Pathway Design

We identify appropriate transport methodologies and standards, define baselines and additionality tests, and map the pathway from project design to issuance.

MRV & Data Framework Design

We support the design of monitoring systems covering vehicle activity, fuel or electricity use, and emissions performance aligned with verification requirements.

Transport Project Pre-Feasibility Assessment

A rapid review of project scope, technology options, indicative emission reductions, and implementation risks to support early investment decisions.
